Does the Best Internet Security Software Exist?
Does the best internet security software exist? I get that question quite often. With the evolving nature of viruses and malwares where they have already infected millions of home computers, having the best internet security suite would ensure you a peace of mind. However, it is said that nothing is perfect. In this blog post, we will explore whether if the best internet security software really does exist in this world.
There are various different functions produced and provided by different internet security suites. For example, eScan products provides consumers with a special MicroWorld WinSock Layer (WML) which would specially check for security violating data where the data would then be deleted with the clean ones passing through. This special MWL boasts to clean out the threat before it reaches the computer’s application while other internet security software only cleans out the threat when it reaches the computer’s application; albeit too late.
However, other internet security companies like ESET have their own unique features. For one, its virus detection is reliable, edging out against other great internet security software like Kaspersky, AVG and Norton. It is also much lighter, meaning you can run more programs while ESET is in place. ESET’s scanning speed is also faster than most, meaning it would not take much time for you to resume your usual activities and not let scanning bog you down. However, some other software like F-Secure Internet Security would have a much better detection rate compared to ESET, with it being 33 percent more accurate.
Other internet security suites, like Kaspersky and PANDA, would also have some other special functions, such as their virtual keyboard. Virtual keyboard would be useful for users who frequent important sites as it does not let key loggers hiding in the computer to compromise the information, such as your password or username.
Kaspersky also provides a unique safe run mode, where you would be able to use it to run suspicious applications or sites in a protected virtual environment. Kaspersky also provides tuning for the machine; smart tuning which would allow the computer to run much faster than with other software. AVG also provides such a service, where AVG would accelerate the computer’s connectivity with content in a much faster pace which would help minimize the waiting time for YouTube videos. AVG also has an unique cloud protection technology, where identified threats that are in the network cloud would be stopped and blocked from your computer through updates which makes it a useful against new emerging viruses.
All in all, even though each one of them has their very own unique features to set them apart, there would not be anything we would call the best internet security software. Everyday, new internet threats emerge, and every internet security suites need to be updated frequently to cope with them. There is no single software which can be rated as the best. It would depend on what the user wants; whether he wants maximum virus detection capability which comes with the cost of slow computer performance, or a light weighted suite which may come at the expense of slightly lower detection rate. It also depends on whether the user needs the different additional features offered by the different companies – cloud backup, PC system tuning, enhanced privacy functions.
